Why do I need travel insurance?

Like any other insurance product, travel insurance protects you, specifically during your travel. AXA Travel Insurance protects your financial investment (up to the amount of your policy limits) should your trip be cancelled or interrupted for a covered reason, as well as provide additional benefits like medical and dental coverage, travel inconveniences, and so on. Who is eligible to buy AXA travel insurance?

AXA Travel Insurance is available for all Malaysians, Permanent Residents, and Employment Pass/Work Permit Holders & Dependent(s) of Pass Holders.

My flight is departing from a neighbouring country (ie. Singapore). Can I buy this travel insurance?

Yes you can, but your departure has to be from Malaysia. You can take any legal transportation from Malaysia to the country where your flight takes off. Do note that the dates of your travel insurance has to be from the date you depart from Malaysia until the date you return to Malaysia.

When is the latest that I can buy the insurance?

You can purchase your insurance on the same day before departure. You will not be covered if you buy your travel insurance after you have departed. However, you are encouraged to buy at least 14 days before in order to enjoy the trip cancellation benefit, this benefit is only available on our VIP and annual plans.

Shall I bring my policy wording with me during my travel?

I am a non-Malaysian (foreigner). Am I entitled to buy AXA travel insurance?

Yes, as long as you are permanent resident of Malaysia or holding a valid working permit or your dependents are residing in Malaysia. With the condition that all departures is from Malaysia and you are returning to Malaysia after your trip.

I am a non-Malaysian (foreigner) student studying in Malaysia. Can I buy travel insurance?

Can I buy travel annual plan for working holiday in New Zealand or Australia?

No, the coverage is only for leisure or business purposes. Working holiday is not considered as a leisure or a business trip.

Can I buy travel insurance for the trip one year from now?

For single trip, you can select any departure date up to 180 days from today.
